Windham Fabrics and the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center in Hartford, CT developed this line of reproduction fabrics, inspired by Harriet Beecher Stowe, (1811-1896), historical figure, writer, painter, gardener, and homemaker.

Stowe’s anti-slavery novel, Uncle Tom’s Cabin, made her an international icon for social justice, and her book, The American Woman’s Home, presented an imaginative and holistic approach to domestic life and design that is remarkably contemporary. The collection is a stunning array of fabric inspired by the collections of the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center and captures the look of an era gone by with its authentic colorings and period prints.
